Shootout At Wadala is the movie that faced controversies since the day it was announced. The dance number of Priyanka Chopra in this movie titled Babli Badmaash was awarded ‘A’ certificate from Censors Board and reason declared was that it was an item number.
There was a complaint received by CBFC from women’s body based in Delhi and they claimed that these item numbers present women in a bad shape. Thus this new rule was communicated to the makers of this movie and to others in the industry which created a shock among producers of this movie.
Balaji Motion Pictures – CEO, Tanuj Garg says ‘We submitted this track Babli Badmaash and it received ‘A’ certificate on the grounds that this is an item number. We told CBFC that no one in the industry is aware of any such rule made and thus it got us in to a large discussion with them. Later we were told that the songs will be certified according to the content use in them.’
Finally Revising Committee cleared this track ‘Babli Badmaash’ with ‘U/A’ certificate.
