SRK is not only King Khan for performance but is also well known as the King of hearts. On International Women’s Day, SRK has taken an exceptional initiative and the entire Bollywood film industry has appreciated his initiative.
SRK today at the occasion of Women’s Day declares that now all his movies would have heroine’s name appearing in the lead of credit titles. He says that he would make sure that this happens despite of that actress being senior or junior to SRK. All the movies of SRK from now will have ladies first in the credit titles list.
This initiative is taken by the star to create a prominent place of women in industry and this would begin with SRK starrer short movie of R. Balki. Balki says ‘This is indeed true that SRK’s movie would now have priority of women in credit titles. Thus all the names of the heroines would appear before SRK’s name. This idea of giving priority to women was advised by SRK himself.’
Balki appreciates this gesture of superstar saying ‘SRK didn’t hesitate and didn’t give a second thought to this idea. He immediately agreed to have his leading ladies go first before him in the titles of the movie.’
This is a revolutionary act in the male centric entertainment industry. It has happened in the past as well as Meena Kumari’s name use to appear before Dharmendra in the credit titles. Also some movies starring Mala Sinha with Sanjay Khan had the leading lady’s name appear first in the titles. These exceptions were there due to the seniority of actresses.
We appreciate and salute SRK for being true feminist and for this noble gesture.
