Ranbir Kapoor was heard talking about his first production venture and now finally he has declared Anurag Kashyap's ambitious project titled Bombay Velvet as his co-production. These days Ranbir is busy working for his upcoming movie Besharam and now he will begin working on Bombay Velvet.
He was initially geared in to play lead role in this movie but later after viewing his involvement in this movie, Anurag asked him for assistance in production of this movie. Ranbir was quite pleased and grabbed this opportunity of co-producing this movie with Anurag.
Several meetings were conducted with Viacom 18 and a budget of Rs. 95 crores is finalized for this movie. Bombay Velvet is based on the Mumbai Fables of Gyan Prakash. This movie is the story of love, violence, greed and jazz music set in the period of 50s, 60s and 70s. Anushka Sharma will be playing lead female role in this movie.
