Last edition of Common Wealth Games was arranged in India and this has lead to a controversy which is still going on. The controversy was that there are some alleged corrupt malpractices carried on and latest development on this controversy happened on Monday. A CWG related corruption case was dealt at the Delhi court where two of the accused people of the case paid an amount of Rs. 71.73 lakhs for performance of Shilpa Shetty at the closing ceremony that was held in Pune in 2008.
It is said that PD Arya and AK Madan, promoters of Gem International based in Faridabad had paid this money through a contract of Swiss Timing and Scoring. This money was paid beyond scope of their work.
This amount was paid through a cheque on October 30, 2008 for Shilpa Shetty's performance by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
