It was around a year ago when Ronit Roy announced the plan to remake Basu Chatterjee's Shaukeen with the cast including evergreen
Rishi Kapoor,
Naseeruddin Shah and Boman Irani. Now as the movie was to hit the floors, Aditya Bhatia from Eagle Video has claimed to have the rights of remake for this movie.
This news was confirmed by Aditya himself saying that the rights of remake of this movie are with them and they would be formally announcing the making of this movie by November end. It is also said that this movie will be written and directed by Rumi Jaffery for Eagle Video. The star cast would include
Paresh Rawal, Rishi Kapoor and Anu Kapoor for lead roles. Also it is said that the role played by Rati Agnihotri will be played by Huma Qureshi for remake.
The other side of the story according to Ronit remains that he has the rights to remake Shaukeen under a signed agreement with Chatterjee. Ronit’s legal team will be working on this issue for safeguard of this agreement.
