The movie did average business at the box office but the critics hailed the story and execution of the film and most importantly gave Ranbir Kapoor thumbs up for his act. The Filmfare Critics award for the best actor he recived was for his performance in all 3 movies i.e. Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani , Wake up Sid, and Rocket Singh.
